The DBT Advantage of Pen to Paper
Through our time spent working with the lesson group, the same dissatisfaction has repeated itself - repeatedly - of the prospect of practicing homework assignments on printed forms. The desire for instant gratification (thus lack of mindfulness) shows through here.
Due to our concern that people not get frustrated with the work involved, we have been attempting to make the assignments easier for the members. We have attempted online forms, and contemplated the possibility of creating a helpful App. After careful consideration, we have discarded any of these “right at your finger tips” forms of teaching.
While the fast and easy road to learning these skills might be easier, the cost for that ease is too high. Please read the articles listed below to understand why putting pen to paper is so important to learning DBT.
